Runaway Digimon Express

Runaway Locomon

Sahgo's notes: (Well, the title is really really close). Well, the series' over, time to compare the second movie. Well, I prefered Battle of Adventurers, but this movie is really cool. Just TOO hurry (even more than Digimon movies usually are), and not a lot of script to say the truth. Anyway, to the comparison. Writer, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. She made a decent job - some added lines, some Stupid Dialogue, but nothing horrible. Now I've compared all Tamers and its movies... wow, I can breath now *pass out*.

Side Note
In the original, the movie opening song is Biggest Dreamer (well, it's a secret, but, I LOVE THIS SONG!!!). In the dub, as in the other movies (except Digimon - The Catastrophe), it was replaced by Frontier's opening song.

Censor:
Well, the movie logo. It's weird. The Digimon Tamers' japanese logo was edited: the romanized "DIGIMON TAMERS" on top was replaced with "DIGIMON", even with the kanji saying "Dejimon Teimazu" [Digimon Tamers].
The "Bousou Digimon Tokkuu" [Digimon Runaway Express] was replaced with a very cheap-made "RUNAWAY LOCOMON".
Also, in the original, Culumon plays with the logo. In the dub, he doesn't.
Logo The "american train credits" are horrible. They cut out most part of the screen. American train credits. The "DIGIVOLUTION" message (replacing the "EVOLUTION") is different from the series. Now it seems less digital. Also, the kana of the digimon analyzing isn't translated here. In the series it was always translated.

Stupid Dialogue:
Takato: "That's one charged-up choo choo!" O_O All the japanese places are avoided. Shinjuku, Ichigaya, and others, are all replaced by simple things like "here, there, town, city, downtown, etc". After 51 episodes with thousands of japanese names. Blah. Takato: "I wonder what's making he act so Loco!" ...Why do I feel this pun is gonna be used some more times? Ruki: "Aren't you a little young to be driving?"

Side Note
Beelzemon's gun's LASER SFX still sucks Yoyogi Station = Station 9. To tell the truth, all Japanese Stations are now "Station <Number>".

Censor:
Kana erased from some signs. They show a big amount of kana in this movie, so I have no idea why are these signs specially evil. Evil kanji.

Stupid Dialogue:
Kazu: "In case you didn't notice, he's going Loco fast!" Yeah, my feeling was right. Random character #1: "Are you joking?"
Random character #2: "How many times do I have to tell you I don't have a sense of humor?"
Well, I kinda laughed at that part XP Takato: "We'll leave it to you, Roger!"
(...)
Ruki: "So, who is Roger?"
Takato: "It is kind of a lingo thing."
¬¬ In the original, Ruki says she doesn't trust adults. In the dub, she says she doesn't trust Yamaki.

Side Note
Rika's dub music's melody is the same as the original. But the lyric is different. Melissa Fahn (Rika's voice actress) sings really well : ) Lopmon's voice actress was changed in this movie. I prefer the series', Mary Elizabeth McGlynn doesn't suit well.

Censor:
Kana erased from another sign. Evil kanji is evil. The weird part is: in another scene, the kana is back o_O;

Stupid Dialogue:
Takato: "Here's an idea: you calm down, and I sing with you!" Is that supposed to make she stop? Takato: "Uh, Rika, I don't want to freak you out, but I think you got something on your backs!" You swear? Kazu: "Check it out! He blinged his ride!"
Henry: "You can say that again."
Kenta: "He's a mega!"
Henry: "Yeah, a mega-bad!"
No, a mega-evil!

Censor:
Well... what can I say... in the whole series, the characters' almost-nudity shown in the "Biomerge Digivolution" was kept, but in this movie, it was censored with long flashes. ....the image speaks for itself. The same with Jenrya and Ruki.

Cut:
(19 seconds) Simply all the fight between Dukemon and Parasimon. Dukemon kicks Parasimon, that loses the green stuff, then Dukemon uses his Royal Saber and hits Parasimon, making he losing more green stuff. The fight.
(Oh, the last scene XD)

Stupid Dialogue:
Henry: "Ok, let's show him how we do things downtown!" You're not downtown.

Cut:
(2 seconds) SaintGargomon killing some Parasimon. Nasty! (2 seconds) Dukemon killing another Parasimon. Nastyy!

Side Note
In the original, Ryo doesn't talk to Ruki when he arrives.

Cut:
(2 seconds) Takato and all his nudity XD What a perv!

Stupid Dialogue:
Kazu: "One thing is for sure: Parasimon or not, that guy is weirder than a soup sandwich".

Side Note
In the original, Xiao-Chung sings the opening song, the Biggest Dreamer! But she sings terribly XD In the dub she sings some Princess Pretty-Pants music ¬¬ In the original, Ruki's mother sings the first ending song, My Tomorrow. And she sings well XD In the dub, Rika's mother sings some shake music. But she sings so bad it's funny XD The credits are changed too. In the dub it just shows random scenes of the city, but in the original, it shows various pictures, such as Lee's family watching Terriermon playing with Lopmon, Takato and Guilmon selling Guilmon bread, those forgotten friends of Juri playing with MarineAngemon, Ruki and family watching the Cherry Blossom, Juri, Culumon and Juri's little brother playing, Yamaki and his system operator (whatever her name is), Locomon running through the Digital World and, finally, all the Tamers.
