Sahgo's notes: The same title ._. Wow. Well, here am I again ^^ I promised myself that, when I finished Tamers' firts part (before the Digital World), I would compare the first movie. Well, here am I! Time to compare the movie. The English Writer is.... AAAGHH! SETH WALTHER!!! Well, being who he is, the script for the movie wasn't the most stupid (well, he made worst episodes), but he made too much confuse alterations to the original script (Seasa/Shiisa -> Seasarmon), and that's WRONG. But the dub itself is way better than the series. I mean, even the dub music is way better now, and the voice actors seems to be less hard-to-hear now. Specially Takato, whose voice I couldn't stand, and now it isn't THAT bad. And that's very good. But the number of cuts.... Obs: My japanese movie has it's screen enlenghtned.

Side Note:
In the dub, Takato is going to visit relatives in an "island". In the original, that place has a name, it's Okinawa. In the travel scene, originally, there was my BELOVED Biggest Dreamer playing (have I mentioned I love that music?). In the dub, it plays Frontier dub opening song.

Censor:
Kana and Japan's flag were erased from the plane. Yeah, this red ball in the middle of a white square is EVIL. Kana erased all over the city, even the "V-Pet" from the screen. 4Kids?

Stupid Dialogue:
Added talk (duh).

Censor:
More kana erased (I think I'll stop taking screenshots). Yay, airports are too evil. Evil kanji.

Side Note:
In the original, Lee asks Takato if he has a place for Guilmon, and Takato says he's not sure. In the dub, Henry says there's plenty of things to keep Takato busy, and this answers he doesn't see his cousin for a long time... yeah, that makes sense. Wait. No, it doesn't.

Censor:
Kana erased from Takato's family TV.

Stupid Dialogue:
V-Pet creator: "Children are future of Japan!"
V-Pet creator: "They have potential to be good customers!" Fine, whatever. Kai: "I finally have someone to make fun for being seasick" You're the worst relative ever. Takato: "He hasn't change one little bit"
Takato: "This is sure gonna be an interesting summer" Uh? Guilmon: "Takatomon!" I don't need to say anything, do I? Kai (to Guilmon): "Yeah, you bet! Just don't eat me!"

Side Note:
The music the old man plays was changed in the dub. And you know what, I think I prefered the dub music ._. (Oh, Sahgo is prefering something from the dub! The world is ending!) In the original, Kai says that everybody in Okinawa knows about Digimon, but not real one! Then, he says Tokyo must be a very cool place. He he. In the dub he says almost the same thing, but avoiding the words "Okinawa" and "Tokyo". The guardian the old man talk about is called Shiisa (or Siisa, or Seasa) originally. In the dub, it's Seasarmon, leaving clear the Digimon reference. This is wrong.

Stupid Dialogue:
Kai's grandpa: "Kai, go fetch some food!"
Kai's grandpa: "Kai, go wash your hands!" What?

Side Note:
Hey, Renamon appeared out of nowhere, and... I'm not hearing that horrible lightning sound! Yay!! The humanity have hope!

Cut
(2 seconds) Renamon's first opponent (name?) shooting missiles. Boom!

(1 minute 44 seconds) It was such a big cut I had to make a box for it ._. MAN, WHY? Well, they cutted the fun part of the episode. First, Kai and Takato are, well, training, with the old man. Than, they go swim. And that's it: they swim, go through fishes, some fishes play with Culumon, Guilmon tries do catch an octopus (he fails), Kai tries to catch the same octopus (he does it!). THEN, they eat. Man, why? Just because there was no important plot or risky adventures in it? AAAHH!! I will just put some samples. Training?

Stupid Dialogue:
Kai: "Man, Guilmon surely likes seafood"
Takato: "Of course he likes it. It's food!" Yeah.. Kai: "A shark!"
Kai: "A digimon! ...?

(1 second) That shark digimon biting Guilmon's tail. Ouch!!

Stupid Dialogue:
Terriermon: "You've seen one rock, you've seen them all!" But nobody smashed them on your head. Henry: "That's a good idea!"
Terriermon: "Of course it is, it's MY idea!" No, it's a bad idea, but Henry is too stupid to notice it.

Cut
(6 seconds) A part of Minami's flashback was removed. On it, we see Minami trying to catch Mei, and Mei is sucked into a whirlpool. MEEEEEII!!

Stupid Dialogue:
Kai: "I know you! You're the daughter of the creator of V-Pets!"
Kai: "Hey, I remember you! Didn't you win that bodyboard contest?" No, she didn't. SHE DEFINETLY DIDN'T. Minami (to Calumon): "You're so cute!"
Takato: "Don't encourage him. Trust me." And if possible, kill him too. Kai: "That's people food, not digi-food!!!" Yeah, and the fact Guilmon was eating octopus some scenes ago was...

Censor:
Some kana on the old man's bottle digitally erased. And more kana in the city.

Cut
(4 seconds) In the city, erased these scenes of cars CRASHING thanks to the traffic light confusion. ....Yeah, people inside must have died...

Censor:
In Lee's family's computer screen, some kana were hidden with a horrible red square. .....The lack of ability. The weird part is, when the V-Pet starts "eating" this news-box, the kana is there again ._. Those people make no sense.

Side Note:
Unfortunatly, my favorite scene was too changed. (Ruki looks the schedule)
Ruki: "Renamon. Did you... just laugh?"
Renamon: "No."
Ruki: "I'll forgive you if you did, you know. I don't care that much for my mom."
(Renamon laughs).
Rika: Mom's coming home soon. Renamon, come on let's find something to do. Moms: you miss them when they're away, and when they're here, you just want them to leave you alone.
(Renamon laughs). Well, at least the dub line is something worth-laughing.

Censor:
On Ruki's mom plane, an "EUROPE AIR" is erased. Even being in english ._.

Stupid Dialogue:
Minami: "And do you know where it is?" (Her father's place).
Kai: "Of course, he's the V-Pet creator".
Minami: "Yeah, I guess so" (about looking for her dad at the morning).
Kai: "Dude, this summer vacation is turning out to be a lot of work and not so much vacation". What a dummy line! In the original, Takato just wanted to see the V-Pet, not to find out why were digimon wanting the laptop. Takato: "Why don't we go back? It's getting late... and embarassing." ...thanks for destroying the cute scene.

Cut
(5 seconds) A random scene of the sea shore. Cutted out for no reason. Time? Shore...

Stupid Dialogue:
Kai's grandpa: "Come back here, you coward!" This line is stupid because, when he says it, he's supposed to be passed out. Kai: "No way, that's Seasarmon!" ..............................

Cut
The boat explosion scene wasn't completely cutted, but some parts were removed. (2 seconds) The boat explodes a little more while going in the direction of Lee and Terriermon. Then, they run. WOOOAAHH (2 seconds) In the middle of the other boats, 'the' boat REALLY explodes. KA-BOOOOOOOOOMMMM (now, once and for all).

Stupid Dialogue:
Omegamon: "I need your power!"
Omnimon: "I need the help of the DigiDestined!" AAAARRRGHHH!!! THEY'RE NOT DIGIDEST, I MEAN, CHOSEN CHILDREN! THEY'RE TAMERS!!! The conversation about Seasarmon (or Shiisamon) was too modified due to the change in the dub. In the original, Guilmon tells Kai and Takato that his name is Seasarmon, and THEN Takato remembers the dog Seasa (or Shiisa), from the legend. In the dub, the conversation was too modified since the name of the guardian of the legend was already "Seasarmon". Too much added talk from this point. Kai: "Oh no, it's a dead end!" ....I can see that the cave goes on and on. It isn't a dead end. What are those writers, blind? Kai: "You ROCK!" The stupid part is: his line doesn't match one little bit to his face.

(4 seconds) The scene of Minami being threatned by the laser guns is longer, and it shows more of Minami's fear. Minami!!!

Side Note:
Mephismon's name is changed to Mephistomon.

(6 seconds) Cutted a second punch of Mephismon in Seasarmon, followed by more punches where blood (blood?) comes off. Ough...

Stupid Dialogue:
Takato: "Oh no! Seasarmon de-digivolved to Labramon! This line would have made sense if Takato was AT LEAST with his digivice on hand. But, oh, he isn't.

Cut
(1 second) Growlmon hitting the wall. Poor, poor wall. (5 seconds) A digimon blasting a part of the city. The city was calm... then.... BOOM.

Stupid Dialogue:
Takato: "We're DigiDestined!" NO YOU AREN'T!!! YOU DEFINETLY AREN'T!!! Mephistomon: "Fools! You could never defeat me with a pathethic attack like that!"
Takato: "And YOU'LL never get us to stop battling you with pathethic speeches like that!" Threatning.

Cut
(3 seconds) Basically, Mephismon "dying" due to the explosion. WAAAAAAAGGHHHHH

Stupid Dialogue:
Takato: "Mephistomon digivolved to Gulfmon!" Once more, you need to have your digivice on your hand to know this.

Cut
(1 second) Kyuubimon hitting the wall WHY? I'M NOT GROWLMON! (2 seconds) Growlmon hitting the ground. I was born for this.

Stupid Dialogue:
Rapidmon: "The bigger they are, harder they fall!" And that phrase lost its impact 10 years ago. The "one, two, three" stuff wasn't in the original. In the original, the Tamers just scream "Go!!". Silence
Takato: "We really did it!"
Kai: "That's 'cause we ROCK!"
Henry: "We saved the world!"
Rika: "Again"
Takato: "But now I need a vacation for my vacation!" The final lines of the movie couldn't be different.

Side Note:
As the other movies, the credits are different. In the original, there are small extra-images with an ending music, even most of them being images previously showed.
