Interesting that Kai's voice actor is different here than it is from
the movie Battle of Adventurers. In the movie it's Yuri Lowenthal, and in
this episode it's Brian Donovan (I prefered Yuri Lowenthal. Brian Donovan
makes a really forced voice, like Takato's). Not only that: here, Kai,
in the dub, refers to his homeland as Okinawa. In the movie, the name
Okinawa was avoided, calling his home "island".
Kai's scene was funnier in the original. In the original, Takato says
he wants to protect people who are important for them, his family, and
friends... Them, Kai interrupts him, saying "There's a girl in this, isn't
it?". Then he says it should be Takato's first love. In the dub, Takato
says from the beggining he wants to save Jeri, so it wasn't so
funny. |
