The Mysterious Girl! Bringer of Miracles, Dobermon

The Messenger

Sahgo's notes: Hey, good title =] Writer, Adele Lim. Well, compared to last episode's tragedy on the hands of Seth Walther, this one was really well done. Adele Lim still adds too much dialogue, but Walther added a lot more. So, now I look her with better eyes.

Censor:
The News' title is translated. Correctly translated? I don't know ^.^ A Strange Mass Appears in West Shinjuku. The little kanji in the down-right corner was also translated. "LIVE".

Stupid Dialogue:
Henry: "Every time I wake up in school I think I'm in a nightmare". C'mon, Takato's stupid jokes about school are enough already! Takato: "...and it's not because Guilmon snores like a dumptruck".

Side Note
In the original, Takato went to Juri's grandparents house. Ruki even says "Oh, so that's why you disapeared after the battle". In the dub, Takato just called them. "Juri's ghost" talk is stupid.

Censor:
And the kanji all over the interviews are translated. Correctly translated. Also the "Recorded Earlier" kanji. The Tamers' parents letter is translated, but... man, in the original we can see it's hand written. In the dub, it seems it was printed ._. Printing letters o_o

Side Note
Uuh, I don't think "You bet, believe it" is the best thing to say in place of "Itadakimasu" (sentence said before starting a meal). How about "Time to eat" or "Thanks for the food"?

Stupid Dialogue:
Takato's mom: "Well, I knew you missed them, so I brought you your tooth brush and you favorite pajamas, with teddybears on it." Takato doesn't have a pajamas. Did anyone watch the first episodes?

Cut:
(1 second) When Impmon kicks Culumon, a shot of his leg is cut. Super-special-awesome kick!

Side Note:
In the original, Terriermon was saying how delicious was the manjuu (that chinese muffin), then, Jenrya's mother says she knew he likes it because Jenrya used to take a bunch of them to his room. In the dub she says Henry could learn with Terriermon (about eating more) ¬¬. The parents' goodbye is different.
Takato: In the original, his father says "There are no parents in this world who would allow their children to rush into danger. But there are no parents in this world who would forbid their children of doing what they really want to." In the dub he says normal children wouldn't be allowed to rush into danger, but they were no ordinary children: they were special.
Jenrya: In the original, his mother says that they couldn't wait worried for their children, and decided to do something for them. In the dub, she says she almost lost Henry once, and again would be too much, but that was way too important for her to stop him.
Ruki: In the original, her mother says she can't just say "goodbye, good luck". She tries, but she can't. Ruki's grandmother asks Ruki if she understands it, and she says "yes" with her head. In the dub, Rika's mother says she wishes Rika was just a baby for her to hold it, but she's not. Then her grandmother tells Rika to take care, and Rika says "yes" with her head.
Oh, something interesting. This scene. Cigarretes. They're not being used, but they're there. And it wasn't censored ._.
I also thought they would do something about all crosses in Alice's outfit, but they didn't. Well, that's good... *missing something to complain about XD*.
Ok, Yamaki's Ark scene was changed. In the original, Yamaki looks to Ark's transmission in silence. Then, he looks to Dolphin and Shibumi and says "Ark... ark?". In the dub, Yamaki says it's a hacker using Ark's system, then Dolphin and Shibumi say that it IS the Ark who is communicating.
Later, in the original, Yamaki shows them the message, and, of course, Dolphin gets surprised. In the dub, he gets surprised too, but, why, if he already knew about the message?
Alice's dub voice is not really good. In the original, she sounds kinda... dead. In the dub, even with that face, she sounds energic somewhat. She tries hard, but....

Side Note:
In the original, we don't see the Tamers using Card Slash to make the Matrix Evolution. It just happens (maybe to not waste too much time). In the dub, however, they added the footage of the "Digi-Modify".

Cut:
(3 seconds) That D-Reaper's big-handed creature grabbing Rapidmon, followed by a scene of MegaloGrowlmon being hit. Ouch!

Side Note:
Well, everybody must know that I don't like the dub BGMs. But I have to admit: the BGM they used on Dobermon's sacrifice scene was just GREAT! O_o If all BGM were like that, the world would be a better place to live ^_^

Total episode retained: ...to say the truth, they've cutted 4 seconds,
but they added 13 seconds of Digi-Modify footage.
There was no time loss, but I would say 99%.
