Connected Minds! Belzebumon's Revival

Beelzemon's Big Day

Sahgo's notes: ¬¬ "Big Day"? Writer, Seth Walther. Wow, he did a good job screwing up the episode *hooray!*. At least the important part (Impmon and his tamers) was well translated, but even so, this episode was full of stupid dialogue. The teddybear stuff showed how stupid Saban writers are.

Stupid Dialogue:
Jenrya: "Is that... the D-Reaper?"
Henry: "This sure isn't gonna be easy!"
Takato: "Yeah, but... really, when has it ever been easy for us?"
In the scene that are showing the D-Reaper in all its glory (XD), there is no talk in the original. In the dub the Tamers are discussing stupid things. Takato (about those D-Reaper birds): "Staring right at us! I mean, REALLY staring right at us!" Guilmon: "It isn't a digimon, Guilmon isn't reacting to it."
Takato: "Are you sure?"

Guilmon: "Maybe they're the D-Reaper pets, but why does he keeps these birds on a leash?"
Takato: "I'm not sure I wanna know!"
Takato: "Guilmon, what are you doing!?"
Guilmon: "Staring contest."
*Takato pulls him*
Guilmon: "BUT I WAS WINNING!"
You lost! Renamon: "I think they're not following us".
Jenrya: "Even so, it would be better finding a place to hide."

Rika: "They're not following! Maybe they're afraid of us."
Renamon: "Or so unconcerned about us that we're not worth chasing."
Henry: "Way to say positive, Renamon!"
Silence. (of course, they're SLEEPING!)
Takato: "Something worse than waiting up going to school is waiting up and being in school".
Ruki: "I prefer Misoshiro for breakfast."
Rika: "Well, it's official, we're all going to ---------------------".
In the original, Yamaki said he was going to the HQ of the city military forces to find out what are they up to. In the dub, he says he is going to Shinjuku Park to investigate. In the original, Impmon ASKS for people to read Ai and Makoto's letter for him, not ORDER them.

Side Note... or Mistranslation
Makoto, one of Impmon's tamers (the boy), had his name shortned to Mako. That may be a mistranslation too, since Impmon calls him "Mako-chan" in the original.
Their voices are good, and Mako's dub voice is so cute ^_^.

Censor:
Ai and Makoto's letter was translated. In the original, the letter is not well written, since it is written by kids. In the dub it's well written. Are Mako and Ai genious children? o_O; Scribbles XD

Stupid Dialogue:
Impmon: "Hongo?"
Impmon: "Hongo? Is that some kind of buffalo?"
Yes! Of course it is! Makoto and Ai went to their grandma's house, that is... ON A BUFFALO!

Side Note:
In the original, inside the train, Impmon was saying "Hongo Station... Hongo Station...". Then, he looks to everybody and says "you know, I won't bite you". In the dub, Impmon is repeating what Henry's master said (about the inner being more important than... bah, you know), the he looks to everybody and says "Yeah, I'm talking to myself, so what?". The japanese version is funnier, in my opinion ^_^. Also, Takato speech about the D-Reaper was totally changed. In the original, the Tamers notice that that creature was linked to the D-Reaper by a cable, what should mean the other digimon should be fighting the D-Reaper in the Digital World too. Then, only Takato's gang could protect their city. In the dub, Takato is saying that that creature should be the D-Reaper's core, and if it was destroyed, the D-Reaper would be destroyed too.

Stupid Dialogue:
Ai and Makoto's grandma: "And remember, by 'being good' I don't mean glueing your brother to the floor again. The neighbors still ---- me!". How can a character who doesn't even APPEAR say so much stupid stuff?

Side Note:
Inside the dog's house, Impmon says "wan!" ("woof" equivalent) in the original. In the dub, he says... something. Stop destroying the funny scenes!

Stupid Dialogue:
One of the military: "What? Give me those binnoculars!" You are already with them.

Side Note:
In the original, Makoto just repeats what Ai says. Like: Ai: "Eat this!"
Makoto: "Eat this!".
Ai: "This too!"
Makoto: "This too!"
In the dub they say different things, but it's more or less the same thing.

Stupid Dialogue:
Ai: "Do you remember that teddybear, Impmon?" If you don't remember, Impmon saw that teddybear's destruction when he wasn't with them, so, Ai couldn't know Impmon knew about it. Just another case of "wow, Saban doesn't even know the series they are adapting". And this episode even has a FLASHBACK of that scene! I mean, what kind of stupidity is that?

Side Note:
Belzebumon's Blast Mode attack change: Death Slinger --------> Corona Blaster. In the original, it was MegaloGrowlmon who said he didn't trust Belzebumon, and later, he was the one who apologized (did anybody notice the long and useless WarGrowlmon's cameo in the dub?). In the dub it's Rapidmon who says he doesn't trust Beelzemon, and later, it's Taomon who apologizes.
