A City Attacked by the D-Reaper

Reunion

Sahgo's notes: Yeah, simple title. Writer, Seth Walther (please, Olkowski, Blum, I need a help here!). He took some lessons with Adele Lim about "how to add dialogue in each little second", because this is what happened. Man, I just HATED this episode's dub. This episodes of family bonds just NEED to be quiet, because the silence is the better way to show feelings - in my opinion :). Not only that, but after keeping a level for some episodes, Guilmon and Terriermon just exploded stupidity here. And the army men, I prefer not talk about them. In the original they barely say anything. In the dub, they say just stupid dialogue. But you can be happy if you just ignore their imaginary lines.

Censor:
The subtitles saying where-is-happening-what are translated. Well, since they're japanese places' names, it's just a romanized way to write them.

Side Note:
In Guilmon's and Takato's scene inside the train, a change. Since the kana of the newspaper the guy was holding weren't translated, the scene has changed: in the original, Takato just reads the newspaper cover, that is saying something like "Digimon's menace?". That's why the guy gets scared and so. In the dub, Takato just says he forgot to hide Guilmon from normal people, the guy gets afraid of him for not a very clear reason. This could be solved if they translated the newspaper. But they don't have this much ability ³.³.

Censor:
The bus' digital sign is also translated.

Side Note:
Impmon's scene inside Makoto and Ai's house was quiet in the original. Also, in the original, I don't think Impmon would say things like "Oh, I don't care, I guess. They were cool people, not that I love them, but I want to see they again". The original Impmon gets really sensitive about his tamers.

Stupid Dialogue:
Everything Calumon says is stupid. EVERYTHING!! YOU HEAR ME!?

Side Note:
In the military scenes, there's no talk in the original. I could point a hundred scenes that were talk-free in the original episode, but I would waste my time. In the original, when Ruki goes out, her mom starts crying saying "I didn't say I let her go... I didn't...". In the dub she's crying asking if she did the right thing. Originally, Xiao-Chung was trying to make Lopmon talk in a less-formal way (in the original, the dialect he uses is really formal). In the dub she's trying to make Lopmon... act like her (monster! How can you do this!!!)

Stupid Dialogue:
Guilmon says something stupid about feeling like - something (hey, I'm a foreigner and I can't understand Steve Blum's weird voice) -, and Takato agrees saying he looks like one.

Side Note:
In the original, Jenrya's mother doesn't say goodbye to him. He goes without saying nothing, after she says she wouldn't let him go. It was something important, showing bonds between mother and son. In the dub she actually says goodbye. Yes, goodbye to the scene's charm.

Stupid Dialogue:
The military men say REALLY stupid things in scenes originally talk-free. I won't quote, but BELIEVE IT: anything the military say is stupid. Ruki: "Goggle-head!" After so many episodes without this, it's back! Takato: "Oh no, the jacket is coming on!" Run for your lives! In the original, Guilmon wasn't scared of the waterway. Terriermon: "It can't be taken lightely, it's of the size of a house!" A mansion, you mean. Terriermon: "Renamon and Guilmon, sitting in a tree!" STUPID BUNNY, SHUT THE HELL UP FOR GOD'S SAKE! Ruki: "What's wrong?"
Takato: "N-Nothing!"
Ruki: "...Aren't you going to say this T-shirt suits well on me?"
Takato: "I-I can?"

Henry (thinking): "Uuuh, what's going on here?"
Rika: "Well, what?"
Takato: "Oh, nothing!"
Rika: "Huh...."
Takato (thinking): "Just keep walking, pretend she's not staring at you, and keep quiet!"
Takato: "I just wanted to say that that shirt looks good!"
Takato (thinking): "Oww, great job of keeping quiet!"
Henry (thinking): "Huh... just keep walking..."
Just for you guys to notice how stupid added dialogue can ruin a very funny - and somewhat cute - scene.
