Urgent Message from the Digital World! Culumon is...

The Imperfect Storm

Sahgo's notes: This title... is not right... The writer is Steve Blum. Compared to Adele Lim and Seth Walther (THE COUPLE OF DARKNESS!!), he did a good job here. It's interesting to notice that almost everyone's lines were kept (without having to be stupid), EXCEPT Terriermon's, Calumon's, Kazu+Kenta's (they're one) and, sometimes, Takato+Guilmon's. These specific characters just HAVE to be stupid in the dub, whoever the English Version Writer is. Well, in the original, Terriermon is funny, Culumon is cute, Hirokazu+Kenta are ignorable, Takato is normal - kinda emo - and Guilmon is... well, he's a child. In the dub, they're all amazingly annoying characters.

Stupid Dialogue:
That part of Renamon start acting like Rika and, well, FEELING this, is dumb. In the original, she just looks to Ruki and then, go back to sleep. Just watching her. The dub stupid line changed completely the original mood. Renamon would never argue about not being able to sleep thanks to those light-creatures. Ha ha. I thought since Impmon evolved, they would make him say less stupid stuff. Well, I was WRONG: Beelzemon says as much stupid stuff as Impmon does.

Cut:
(5 seconds) Basically, Hirokazu strangling Kenta after he says Sukamon should be his partner. Don't try to kill your friends, children. (4 seconds) After Leomon says that was a lie (about those 2 getting digimon partners), there's another scene of strangling. It would be such a pleasure seeing this in the dub...

Stupid Dialogue:
Kenta: "Then, someone took the flag?"
Kazu: "No genious, they moved the rocks!"
Terriermon: "That means we can find Culumon culu~!" (imitating him)
Silence
Terriermon: "Now that Calumon is a real criminal will he be punished with public -------?"
Terriermon: "....What? I thought that was a reasonable question".
Yay, nothing like taking off the funny parts. As always, Hypnos' scene has lots of added lines, but nothing really stupid. Terriermon: "Maybe it's the same thing... that's making Takato's butt glow!" .............................that line....sounded SO wrong...... In the original, when Yamaki puts the headphone in his ear, he hears modem sounds. In the dub, he hears nothing (so why the hell did he put that thing in the ear, anyway?)

Censor:
The computer screen with Takato's email was de-kana'd and re-english'd. Bokutachi wa genki desu - Matsuda Takato [We're okay - Takato Matsuda]
WE MADE IT! WE'RE ALL FINE! - Takato

Stupid Dialogue:
Renamon: "They're the proof that not only digimon live in the Digital World".
Renamon: "They're called digi-gnomes. Relax, Rika. At least they are friendly."
.....................

Side Note:
In the scene of Belzebumon killing all the digimon, in the original, a song played in the background. In the dub.... ¬¬ In the original, Infermon says nothing.

Censor:
Scenes of Belzebumon aiming his gun to Kyuubimon's head were covered with some shots of other characters. In the dub we can clearly see that Beelzemon is doing the same, but with less details. Hey, aim that to Terriermon!

Side Note:
Aaaw, I don't like the line change they did in the scene when Yamaki comes to Hypnos. Yamaki: "From now on, this is profissional job. Amateurs, please, get out."
Yamaki: "See what happens when I leave you alone? Now, let me do so I can clean up this mess!"
The original line was indirectly aiming to the government guy. The dub's is.... well, nothing really interesting. And, is it my impression or Saban has a very limited sound effect collection? I mean, when the Shaggai/Juggernaut's hole closes, in the dub, we hear the same horrible lightning sound (that seems to be from RPG Maker 2000) that they use to Renamon's sudden appears scenes. That's so sad.
