Renamon is my Friend! Ruki's Hesitation

The Icemon Cometh

Sahgo's notes: Yay, another horrible title... "The Icemon Cometh". Am I the only one who is remembering "The Piximon Cometh"? (Adventure). The dub is not bad at all. There was no dialogue changes (serious changes) and a LOT of lines remained intact. And they haven't added imaginary dialogue as much as I thought they would. They even maintained Ruki's and Kyubimon's silence in the end of the episode (what was SOOO good for me!). The English Version Writer is Adele Lim. Hum... not on my blacklist. For now >: ) (he he) Wow, 10 episodes... now there are just 40 more to go... yeah............... *yawn*

Stupid Dialogue:
Yamaki: "I don't know what is he bringing along, but is bigger than a bread box" AAAAGHHHHHH!!!!!! *Hits the head three times in the keyboard* NOT YOU TOO, YAMAKI!!! PLEASE!!!! Rika: "I've seen hamsters with more battle experience than Guilmon". No. You DEFINETLY didn't. To say the truth, Ruki doesn't insult Guilmon and Terriermon in the japanese version. She's a lot less annoying than the dub's.
And in the original, here, Ruki is trying to understand WHAT IS the evolution. In the dub she's wondering if the others have something she doesn't (or something similar).
A lot of added thinkings in Ruki's head. In the original, Culumon just says "Cululu culu" (etc) in the scene with Ruki. In the dub he says things like "let's play", "here I come", etc. My horrible japanese didn't understand well what Ruki's mom said in the original version, but... I feel.... her dub lines can't be right..... (know what, ignore this comment). Rika (to Calumon): "You just had to be cute, didn't you?" Calumon is FAR away from being cute. Culumon is increndibly cute ^^

Side Note:
Well, something I've been observating. In the original version, when Renamon appears out of nowhere, a flute "ghost-sound" is played (that's because she's a fox, and there are japanese beliefs that animals like foxes and racoons are spiritual, or something like this). In the dub, some kind of "lightning sound" is played. This lightning sound SIMPLY doesn't match.

Stupid Dialogue:
I JUST have to mention: ANYTHING, really, ANYTHING Impmon says in the dub can be qualified as Stupid Dialogue. Oscar: "digi-poodle". Yup. 'digi-poodle'. And was supposed to be an insult. Rika (about Calumon): "That was for a scientific project. We had to measure the effects of gravity in small objects so I threw it up a bridge!"

It would be SO COOL if it was true.

Henry (about Combos): "It's a good thing to keep in mind"
Takato: "Yeah, that and the other million things you told me"

Don't you guys have ANYTHING better to do, like, I don't know, chasing Wild Ones?

Impmon: "Well, if isn't the dumb-dumb-club!"

Well, if isn't the STUPID HORRIBLE-ACCENTED-AND-VOICED Impmon!

Side Note:
IceDevimon's japanese voice is very vilanic and I guess it's the same of Devimon. The computer effect added in IceDevimon's dub voice is cool, but his voice... is not too vilanic... whatever. Frost Claw -----> Frozen Claw (what a change!).
Zero Freeze ---> Tundra Freeze.
Ice Shower ----> Avalanche Claw (claw?)

Stupid Dialogue:
Takato: "Does anyone have any right ideas?"
Henry: "Just one: let's try not get ourselves craned"
You two have just a few lines in this episode. They don't need to be stupid. Takato: "Who let the freezer on?" You. You're the only person stupid enough to make it. Terriermon (about good strategies): "Like a kick in the pants!" And does IceDevimon even have pants? If my horrible japanese is right, in the original, Lee says that IceDevimon has advantage in that frozen field, so their digimon would have less chance to fight (or something like this. I can be wrong). In the dub, Henry says IceDevimon is the stronger digimon they've ever faced. IceDevimon: "Ah~, the infamous Renamon. I'd love to see their chat, but I have to DESTROY you!" They way he says this line.... is..... so.... gay.....

Side Note:
I forgot to comment, but I simply LOVE Renamon's dub voice. It's so perfect ^_^

Stupid Dialogue:
Kyubimon: "Where are you going, FROSTY?" HELL.
