The Ordeal for Tamers! Down with Gorimon!

It Came from the Other Side

Sahgo's notes: Another silly dub title. The episode was sightly better than the TERRIFYING episode 3, but it still have far too much stupid dialogue and imaginary talk to be called "good". Also, scene replacements were terrible! We seee Terriermon being throwned away 3 times o_o
The interesting part is that, in Wikipedia, I read "The show's English dub had little editing compared to previous seasons.". He he he. Funny.

Stupid Dialogue:
Added talk. Lots and lots of it. And for the last time, Guilmon doesn't call Takato "Takatomon" in the japanese version. In the japanese version, he called him this way JUST ONCE! IN THE SECOND EPISODE! The initial conversation is completely changed. While, in the japanese version, the dialogue focuses in "Terriermon's evolution", in the dub it focuses in "It would be difficult to bring Gargomon home". Blargh. For some weird reason, in Lee and Gargomon's night scene, we hear snores. The 'weird' part? They're both very awaken ._. Terriermon: "Henry? Henry!? WHERE ARE YOU!!?" This line is stupid for a simple reason: Lee and Gargomon were in front of each other ALL THE TIME, how could Terriermon get LOST?! Rika: "What does that goggle-head have that I don't?" Don't know. Goggles maybe. Yamaki: "They just never learn, do they?" Ok, the line isn't stupid. But if we stop to think, they let Guilmon escape, Columon, and a bunch of others. So, he has no right to say this. The super-small dialogue between Takato and Lee in the street was changed. In the japanese version, Takato wonders if the training card Hirokazu gave him could be useful to evolve digimon. In the dub, Takato is just saying Kazu gives him that kind of cards to use against Takato. A LOT of useless changes... Henry: "I hope it's not what I think it is!"
Takato: "Me too!
Henry: "What do you think it is?"
Takato: "Whatever it is it's coming right us!"
What it is? In the running scene, MORE added talk. A lot of added talk, to say the truth. And there's one line that I loved so much: Terriermon: "You get the wrong time to ask questions!"
Henry: "For once I agree with you"
IF YOU KNOW, WHY DO YOU KEEP ADDING IMAGINARY DIALOGUE, SABAN? Those guys make no sense.
And notice: in the original, they're not running away from the fog. In the original, Lee is trying to take the fog to a place without people. In the dub, they're running away ¬¬.
Terriermon: "Now might be a good time to hide!"
Henry: "You just follow my ideas, aren't you?"
Terriermon: "I suppose "momantai" isn't really appropriated now, huh?"
You were so cool characters before... the most wonderful part is that the second line is heard when Henry's mouth is actually VISIBLE and CLOSED. Terriermon: "Quick, down there!"
Henry: "I thought I was the tamer!"
Yeah.... me too... but you're too idiot. Henry: "How about sugesting a better place to hide?" Ok, first, YOU'RE NOT LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO HIDE. Second, the last place Terriermon suggested him wasn't a hideout, was just some kind of shortcut. And that's pretty obvious in the japanese version. Takato: "Wow! He's a big one! Who invited him to the party?" Nobody, since, in this scene, everybody is with their mouths shutted.

Side Note
Gorimon's name was changed to Gorillamon.

Censor:
Gorimon's kick in Guilmon was replaced for a - oh, you guessed it - flash. GORILLLLAAAA KICCCKKKKK!!!

Side Note
Terriermon's attack had its name changed. Blazing Fire ----> Bunny Blaster (WTF?!) I've already heard that term somewhere..... in the third movie......

Stupid Dialogue:
Terriermon: "And what you expect me to do? Sit back and let him treat Guilmon like a BANANA!?" HELL YEAH!!!!!!! In Lee's flashback playing the Digimon game, originally there was NO TALK. Man, what's with this WILL to add useless excessive talk in silence scenes? What's wrong with the silence!? TELL ME!

Censor:
In Lee's computer, "GORIMON" was changed to "GORILLAMON" A complicated alteration, pay attention. In the japanese version, Terriermon does that (what you do in the bathroom, you know, sitted), and cleans it. In the dub, they made something weird: they made a weird "camera rew" effect, making Terriermon repeating a move three times (it's a turning movement), and Lee says Terriermon is "dancing". Yeah. Sure. Eeeww!!

Stupid Dialogue:
Henry: "He's small and smart, like me!" Smart? Saying so much stupid dialogue? Ha ha ha. Don't make me laugh ^_^

Censor:
A very weird censor (that made my head spin @_@). There was no time lost, but scene replacements to "hide" some scenes. Well, to put it simple, let's describe each version: JAPANESE
- Gorimon carrying Guilmon.
- Gorimon smashing Guilmon against the wall, Terriermon calls Gorimon's attention.
- Gorimon grabs Terriermon's ear.
- Gorimon spins Terriermon.
AMERICAN
- Gorillamon SCREAMS.
- Henry says some useless things to Takato.
- Gorillamon apparently throws something in Terriermon, and he avoids.
- Gorillamon carrying Guilmon.
- Gorillamon trying to hit Terriermon, but he misses.
- Gorillamon shoots at....????
So, they used a lot of scenes previously showed to hide scenes. So, you lost: Gorimon smashing Guilmon against the wall.
Gorimon grabbing Terriermon's ear.
Gorimon spinning Terriermon.

Cut:
(2 seconds) A scene with Lee in front of his computer was shortned.

Censor:
MORE scene replacement. After Lee's flashback, in the japanese version, we see Gorimon continue spinning Terriermon, and throwing him away. Then, he falls on the ground. In the dub, we see Terriermon flying (that is, being throwned away), Guilmon being carried by Gorillamon, and... Terriermon flying again ._. So, you lost: Gorimon throwing Terriermon away.
Terriermon falling.
Terriermon's attack in Gorimon was covered by a flash. Take this!

Stupid Dialogue:
Henry (after Terriermon's headbutt): "Way to use your head, Terriermon!" You should learn with him. You and Takato ^_^

Cut:
(2 seconds) That's a little weird, but... well, you know, that scene where Gargomon (in the flashback) starts shooting Gorimon. In the japanese version, he starts shooting, stops, than shoots again. In the dub, he starts shooting and don't stop. So, you lost the first moment of Gorimon being shooted. His position is different in this scene. Ow ow ow ow!

Censor:
AND MORE SCENE REPLACEMENT! (Man, my head is spinning. Seriously). In the dub, you see Terriermon being throwned away (again) and them, Guilmon grabs him. In the japanese version, Gorimon KICKS Terriermon, and THEM Guilmon grabs him. GORILLLLAAAA KICCCKKKKK!!! (2)

Side Note
I've been analyzing the cards. In the japanese version, all cards have their names and, those who played Digimon Card Game know that each card increase/decrease a determinated amount of - something. In the dub, there's just "POWER ACTIVATE!"/"SPEED ACTIVATE!"/"DEFENSE ACTIVATE!"/etc. So, I can imagine there are just 5 or 6 cards in the dub. Other Terriermon's attack name was changed. Petit Twister ------> Terrier Tornado.

Stupid Dialogue:
Terriermon: "What goes up must come down" You also chooses the worst times to say stupid things. Guilmon: "I don't think he liked the write (?)!" None of us did. Terriermon: "Can I at least do a little of victory dance? Can I?" NO WAY IN HELL!!!!!! Guilmon: "We're a combination too. Like pineapple and bananas" The dialogue in this scene was SO GOOD until... this....
