Disastrous Power - ShineGreymon Runs Wild

Kurata's Real Plan

Sahgo's Notes: A pretty good episode, a confusing dub. The script was a little loose today, it was kinda weird o.o

Side Note:

I hate the lenght of the previous episode's recap. Is so damn long in this episode!

Cut?:

(1 second) This kick from ShineGreymon... Evil... Burst... Mode... (yeah, I think I'll just call him that) was cutted. It was pretty intense [unnecessary comment!]

Kick!

Side Note:

Ok, the Never-Say-Die rule applied to this season made Masaru's anger scene stupid. In the original it's pretty clear he wants to kill Tohma, while in the dub Marcus just seems to want to "make Thomas pay" (which could be on cash or credit card).

Stupid Dialogue:

Kristy: "This isn't like you, Marcus! Thomas is your friend, if you hurt him you will never forgive yourself!"

I'm not sure about you, but I think people do get hurt when we punch them in the face. So you're too late, little girl.

Censor:

Not relevant, but the previously mentioned line ended with Chika's mouth opened, but in the dub they... digitally closed her mouth. Doesn't really make difference, and I have to admit that the dub scene is better (Chika is not even screaming, she is just... with her mouth open. Quiet. Silenced. o_o).

Cut?:

(3 seconds) For some reason they cutted this scene of ShineGreymon Evil Burst Mode roaring over a burning city. It's not like a politically correct scene, but they left out ShineGreymon destroying the city itself, which is kinda worse.

GRAUR!

(2 seconds) Masaru, looking at the burning city, screaming "Why did you turn back into a Digiegg/tama?!" (in the dub this was just replaced by a "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!").

Hey look, the flames are smaller.

Side Note:

Belphemon retained his name. His designation as in "Sleep Mode" is also retained.

Censor:

Belphemon's image in the digimon-analyzer-window-thingie is zoomed in the dub for whatever reason (o_o).

Stupid Dialogue:

Kurata: "The hieroglyphics told the story of how Belphemon awakens from his slumber every 1.000 years to spread destruction."

Lies lies lies. And if it was true, there would be no reason to give him digital energy in the first place.

Cut?:

(1 second) Falcomon's Shurininken scene was shortned so he wouldn't be... shooting shurikens ON THE AUDIENCE. Seriously, this is paranoia! Nobody is going to be traumatized because someone is shooting animated blades in the direction of the audience.

Stupid Dialogue:

Yoshi: "Where'd Yushima dissapeared to? Maybe he's switched sides like Thomas..."

.....I'm trying to follow her line of thought. No success.

Side Note:

A dialogue inconsistency in the japanese version: Tohma orders MirageGaogamon to capture Ikuto, but when Yatagaramon saves Ikuto he actually saved him from being stabbed by MirageGaogamon's claws. The dub kinda corrected that making Thomas say "MirageGaogamon, focus on Keenan!", so he was ordering his partner to kill the kid. Isn't that just lovely?

Stupid Dialogue:

Originally, after blocking Masaru's punch, BanchoLeomon made a little speech saying that a pure Digisoul would not be made from a fist of hatred, and if he tried that it would be impossible to reach the true Burst Mode. In the dub he actually doesn't say any of this, just spend some time saying that Marcus sucks, stinks, is the garbage of society, is weak, and will never, not even in a million years, be as good as his father (ok, not with these words, but that was the message).
Funny that Marcus' answer for all of this was "I'm not that bad!". I can just say that BanchoLeomon's rant was kinda pointless.

Cut?:

(less than a second) They actually cutted some frames of Ikuto hitting his boomerang ON THE AUDIENCE.

Total episode retained: 96%.
