The Fierce Attack of Kurata's Army - Protect the Holy Capital

The Sacred City's Last Stand

Sahgo's Notes: First, I'll give my personal feelings about this episode: Yoshino, you suck. Seriously, she had 32 episodes to develop her character and she only did that in ONE episode. ONE. FREAKING. EPISODE. And here we are, another episode where she is mainly focused. Is she developed, like Tohma was? NO! She is ACTUALLY less developed than her opponent Ivan, who is only in the show for less than 10 episodes. So, I can just say that Yoshino is the weakest Digimon-anime female lead ever. She is even worse than MIMI (THE DUB MIMI!).
That aside, comments about... everything else: the animation is now "the usual" (booh). The dub script is good (altough they had to make a little effort to make the episode a little funnier), and Cristopher Darga's voice was servicable for Ivan in this episode (altough not... right). It's not a very important episode anyway, so... bah.

Side Note:

Gawappamon's Gawa Punch (or Gawappunch, whatever) retained. And if it wasn't retained, a change from "Gawappunch" to "Gawa Punch" (or vice-versa) I don't even consider as a change.

Cut?:

(2 seconds) I'm not sure if this was my video's problem, but some seconds of ElDoradimon's tail swinging close to the "camera" were cut.

...

Stupid Dialogue:

Rosemon: "Now that I digivolved to the ultimate level there's no way you'll come close to touch me."

The line isn't so stupid, but since ROSEMON is saying it, it's... kinda... you know...

[Updated 22 June 2008] Macho Duck: By dub standards, Rosemon evolved to the "Ultimate" level a long time ago at Lilamon... "Ultimate" is the highest form in the Japanese version, which is called the "Mega" form in the dub. Thanks to Harrison Mays for catching that!

Mistranslation:
BioSpinomon's name was transliterated as BioSupinomon.

Side Note:

BioSpinomon's attacks were retained.

Stupid Dialogue:

Rosemon: "I'll show you that size is no indication of strenght!"
Rosemon: "I'll teach you that size doesn't matter unless you're talking about the size of someone's heart! ...Well, that's the theory anyway!"

Rosemon is watching too much Captain Planet.

Rosemon: "Don't worry. I'll never hand you over to him, Yoshino! [to BioSpinomon] Now, come on!"
Rosemon: "What about the mall? (referring to Ivan's suggestions) Sometimes those smitties can be very refreshing! Kidding!"

o_O ...?

Side Note:

This episode has many line changed from the characters, specially Ivan, but since they were made for the sake of comedy (which is one of the main points of this episode) I won't list them. Except those that are really stupid.

Censor:

This digimon (whose name I really don't know o_ô) originally had these red cracks over his mask/head, but they were digitally gone in the dub. Maybe because of the whole law red = blood, but it was a really stupid censorship anyway. But then again, the censors need to get their salary so they have to do something.

TEH KRAKS!

[Updated 22 June 2008] Macho Duck: As Harrison Mays points out, this Digimon is Yasyamon. Thanks, Harrison Mays!

Cut?:

(2 seconds or so) When BioSpinomon kills the previously mentioned digimon, the dub cutted the scene before BioSpinomon's blade got a little to close to the... audience. Yes, he also suffers from the "I really, really want to kill the audience" syndrome.

Side Note:

Rosemon's Ivy Hug retained.

Censor:

The shadows of Rosemon's body while she's using Forbidden Tempation were erased here (just to note, there was a very similar censorship in DIC's Sailor Moon and 4Kids' Mew Mew Power).

Just the silhouette.

Censor: [Added 22 June 2008]

Macho Duck: Another catch by Harrison Mays brings us more censorship! Rosemon got a wardrobe correction despite the fact that that she's been wandering around the whole episode in her regular garment.

Nice work, censorship team! Way to protect us from Rosemon's navel.

Cut?:

(1 second or less) Kouki's punch on Falcomon was censored with the weirdest impact screen to date.

Forget what I said, I think I like the slash-impact-screen better o_O

Censor:

Kouki - Piercing - Censorship. You know the drill.

Total episode retained: 97%.
