And I say almost the same thing about the episode itself. It was one episode "WTH? The dub just matches perfectly with the subtitles!" that was pretty rare when I compared Adventure and Tamers. So, I'm happy. The cuts were just a few, nothing to worry about. Apparently, all the english version scripts are written by Jeff Nimoy, and this guy is doing a really good job here. But... let's comment about something peculiar. It's pretty obvious by now that the dub is using the "ultimate fighter" talk to cover the fact that Masaru was a street fighter, and I'm not happy about that. I mean, Masaru isn't some kind of martial-arts-fighter-who-wants-to-be-the-greatest-fighter-ever, he's just a troublesome guy who likes fighting and that's all. It's pretty ridiculous to see his "(verb) is what a man does!" speeches being replaced with "(verb) is what an ultimate fighter does!". This is, like, the mother of all shounen anime clichés. |

| (6 seconds) Tohma taking a bath... Eew, male fanservice >_< |
| In the original, Chika and Masaru's mum call Agumon "Agu-chan" (-chan is a suffixe that can be used to point something cute), but in the dub it's just "Agumon". |
| Agumon: Run, boss! This is a good training for
ultimate fighting! Is this ''ultimate fighting'' some kind of DBZ-like tournament? |

Some blanked signs with evil kanji. We're so
lucky they got rid of those! Evil (and almost unreadable) kanji! We hate you so much! |
| (1 second) Well, in the dub we understand that Marcus was fired
(ok, this pun was horrible), but we missed the details. Fire, fire, yeah, he he he! |
| Marcus: Stop setting things on fire! I just
got these shoes! No, they're your usual shoes. You're not a fancy boy, really. |

"Thomas'" voice actor, the ''almighty'' Crispin
Freeman, is just great. Gaomon's voice actor is good enough. |
| Agumon: He just ignored me! What a
jerk! Agumon: No birthday present for that guy! Do digimon even have birthday? |

I just loved when the (dub) BGM stopped when
Thomas ignored Marcus ^^ In the original, Tohma and Satsuma were talking about the difference of digimon appearances in Japan and Europe. In the dub Thomas is saying the (japanese) team has to be more efficient. Not for nothing, but I was glad to hear dub Yoshino saying ''japanese division''. |

That's weird.... and a little hard to explain,
but I'll try. In the original, the dialogue is like
this: Tohma: Why did you enter DATS? Masaru: It was so I could win *punches* Tohma: *dodges* Against what? Masaru: Against strong opponents! *punches, but Tohma blocks it* In the dub, it's: Thomas: What made you join DATS in the first place? Marcus: It was so I can beat guys like you! *punches* Tohma: *dodges* Seriously. (INSERT SCENE FROM AN EARLIER DIALOGUE HERE) Yoshino: He means he wanna to fight strong guys like you. (INSERT ANOTHER SCENE FROM AN EARLIER DIALOGUE HERE) Marcus: Not this guy! The part where Tohma blocks Masaru's punch was actually replaced. Yay! I was totally inneffectual! |

PetitMeramon's name was changed to
DemiMeramon. Both Gaomon and Gaogamon retained their names and attacks. There are some number changes in some lines, but I don't think they are really relevant. |
| Marcus: Face it... I'm not the ultimate
fighter Yeah, to be the ultimate fighter you must have that blonde hair and blue eyes, and be able to gather the Earth's energy in a giant blue, shiny ball, and also be able to fly on a cloud, and... |

Attack change (Agumon) Baby Burner ---> Spit Fire Blast On the other hand, GeoGreymon's Mega Burst was kept. |
