Wolfmon of Light: Battle in the Underground Maze

Lobomon: Warrior of Light

GordoBaggins' Notes: The title's not bad, but... Lobomon. What's wrong with Wolfmon so much that we have to replace it with a Spanish equivilent? No me gusta.

Adele Lim eats away at our minds today. But don't worry, it's not super bad.

Side Note:
In the original, Takuya's D-Scanner doesn't say anything when the Digicode returns to materialize.

Stupid Dialogue:
I want to make it clear that basically everything Neemon says in the dub is stupid.

Bokomon: ...by the way, I'm Bokomon, keeper of the book!

Ooh, "the book?" Is that a reference to the Bible?! That's religion in my cartoons! I don't like it! *cries*

Neemon: I'm Neemon, the land comes back to normal too!
Neemon: And I'm Neemon, keeper of my pants, also at your service you awesome human!

Is it just my dirty minds or does it sound like he's hitting on Takuya?

Side Note:
They added more of Bokomon babbling after Neemon "introduces" himself in the dub.

Stupid Dialogue:
Bokomon talks about the history of the Digital World and stuff
Neemon: Flowers! Trees! ...and butterflies!

Are there even digital butterflies beyond... well, Butterflymon?

Zoe: Our devices look the same...
Takuya: Maybe girls aren't meant to be Digimon!

SEXISM. lawl.

J.P.: This place sucks. It sucks with teeth(?)!

:O.
:O.
...:O.

HOW DARE HE SAY THAT IN A CHILDREN'S SHOW. BANISH HIM- sorry, a little hyper. I'll stop, promise.

Angler grunts
Angler: Ha, you said it!

Bullcrap. Like you know what this kid's going through. :P

Side Note:
Angler's a lot more rude in the dub.

JP screams like a girl. It makes me giggle, especially the fact that Steve Blum can pull off such a tone.

Stupid Dialogue:
Bokomon: They got separated, I guess...
Neemon: Humans are unusual.

Bokomon: Maybe they're playing hide... and go seek.
Neemon: Maybe they got eaten by a bunch of big ol' bears!

Or maybe they're playing hide and seek with a bunch of big old bears!

Side Note:
In the original, the Poyomon told Bokomon that Junpei and Tomoki were chased into a train station by the Pagumon, not into the forest.

The dub added a bit more shots of Kouji just standing there. Why? For Kouji to babble some more. And he talks to himself the whole way through the hole in the wall...

Even though Junpei called Tomoki stupid, JP called Tommy a runt and basically refered to him as useless. JP is officially a dick.

Sheesh, there's a lot of added scenes in this episode... they added more of JP and Tommy going back and forth.

Stupid Dialogue:
Neemon: Just follow the noise, silly!

They're not shouting anymore...

Side Note:
This is interesting.
In the original, Takuya makes it clear what grade Tomoki is in (Third). He also tells Izumi that he's in the fifth grade and that he's 11 years old. Izumi responds by telling him that she's three months older than him, as her b-day is in July and Takuya's is in August.
In the dub, Takuya states that he's in the sixth grade, but he doesn't say how old he is. Zoe responds in the same way Izumi did: she was born in May and Takuya was born in August. It always seems to be a dub tradition to move things up one year...

Stupid Dialogue:
Izumi: What're you doing?!
Zoe: I'm alive! I could just kiss you!

...wtf? No Takumi until later on in the series!

Takuya: What was that for? You were the one grabbing on to me.
Izumi: You don't have to call me "omae!" Orimoto Izumi is a perfectly cute name!

Takuya: What? Girl, you're the one who grabbed me in the first place!
Zoe: My name is not "girl," it's Zoe! And keep your hands to yourself in the future, little boy!

Way to cover up a Japanese reference (he refered to Izumi as "omae," which is informal). Make Takuya sound like a sexist poopdick.

Side Note:
Raremon attack change!

Total Stinking Gas > Acid Sludge

Stupid Dialogue:
In the original, Raremon didn't call out his attack name.

Bokomon: Why why why why? That, Takuya-han, you can't get it to work?
Bokomon: Hey, Takuya, no pressure, but you might want to think about spirit evolving before Stinky there turns your friends into goop.

Kick this guy across the room, please.

Side Note:
Was it really, necessary to add scenes from the previous episode into here? The dub shows us Takuya getting his Spirit... again while he Spirit Evolves. Weirdddd.

As I mentioned earlier, Wolfmon changes to Lobomon, and his attack changes too! Yay!

Licht Seiger > Lobo Kendo.

Stupid Dialogue:
Wolfmon: This spirit of darkness... will be saved by the light!
Lobomon: Now, you talking trash heap... prepare to be recycled!

You know, you were cool until they called you Lobomon. And you weren't around till then, so technically you were never cool. This changes nothing.

Kouji: Don't thank me for saving you.
Koji: I guess I should thank you for saving me.

Horse pucky.

Side Note:
Did I mention last episode that Rika is the announcer for this season? I think it's pretty spiffy. ^_^

Update:
This comparison originally listed "Angler" as "Angray". This has been corrected thanks to reader Kanabi. Thanks, Kanabi!
