Odaiba's Fairy! Lilymon Blossoms

Flower Power

Sahgo's notes: Bah.... the episode isn't all that.
The dub is not bad, except for a big alteration due to a scene moving.

Stupid Dialogue:
Myotismon: "Soon now! Not in fire or in ice, but in FOG, this world will be mine!" You have such a great voice, for such stupid lines. Palmon says something utterly stupid here. I couldn't understand. Something to do with candy. Mimi: "Did you know this place was sea some time ago?"
Mimi: "I've got this bottle of water, try it! It's fresh and pure, as the winter morning in the -----"
Yeah... I'm sure it is. Mimi: "At least is what is said at the bottle!" And you read that stuff? Your brain is even smaller than I tought! Mimi's mother: "You mean it?"
Mimi's father: "I mean it!"
Mimi's mother: "REALLY!?"
Mimi's father: "REALLY!"
Are you asking if I think this line is stupid? Yes! I mean it! REALLY!

Cut:
(2 seconds) Erased this shot of Jou looking to his terrible grade (54. You know, 54 points from 100). In the US version, Joe says he got a C (since is the same thing, I'll not consider as stupid dialogue). Also, the test is FULL of Evil Kanji ^^ 54 points.... 54 evil kanji-ed points...

Stupid Dialogue:
Jou: "54 points? In my 11 years of life, this was the worst grade I've ever received"
Gomamon: "Cheer up, life has its ups and downs"
Jou: "I have to tell my parents I'll come home late today"
Phone: "Temporarily out of service"
Jou: "Weird. I my phone isn't working."

Joe: "I can't believe I got a C! Here goes the medic school and my dad want me to call right away and tell him my grade!"
Gomamon: "A C? Forget about Myotismon, this is a REAL disaster".
Joe: "You're right. It's clear this grade is the result of all the stress of the monster attacks!"
Gomamon: "Well, if you exit the medic school, go politics" (I haven't understand even HALF of his words here).
Man, Chioka's (Charlie's) dub voice is HORRIBLE. Some kind of horrible moron accent. Anyway, I COULDN'T understand what he said, but I heard "Gozilla". So, yeah, it was probably stupid. Gomamon: "There are lots of kinds of problems in this world too"
Gomamon: "It could be worse. We could be stuck on the train"
Shut the hell up! One of Matt's father's assistants: "Even my cell phone isn't working. Of course it wasn't working before, but still..." Man, the adults in this show say even dumber things than the children!

Censor:
Yamato see a letter on the table. I'm not sure what is said on it, but, for what he says, the letter says his father was coming home late that day. In the dub, it was replaced by the TV screen previously showed, with Matt saying his father is coming home late. Why father! WHY did you write your letter in evil kanji!? The japanese signs were digitally exchanged for english signs. "Beware of Fog" and "Do not pass". I don't know what does the japanese signs say, but I imagine it's something similar. More kanji ^^

Stupid Dialogue:
One of Matt's father's assistants (the same): "It seems some alien power is controlling the fog with magic or something" What are you, Izzy's mom?
Yamato's father: "Everyone, be careful!"
Matt's father: "Everyone, get in the car!"
The line isn't stupid, but, what's the point saying to them to enter the car if they don't?

Cut:
(2 seconds) Erased this scene. Jou is drinking... some kind of.... energy drink or something (sorry for my deficient ability of reading kana u_u'). If you want to be as strong as Jou, YOU HAVE TO DRINK IT!

Stupid Dialogue:
Taichi's mother: "Taichi, aren't you going to your soccer practice?"
Taichi: "It's not time for that!"
Taichi's mother: "Really?"

Tai's mother: "Oh, your poor father. I hope he's not stuck in the subway"
Tai: "We're not watching that video again!"
Tai's mother: "The TV is still out, sweetie"
The original commentary was a follower of the previous dialogue between Sora and Piyomon. Sora said she was going to the soccer practice because she wanted to talk to Taichi. So, this dialogue showed he wasn't going. Poor, poor Sora ^^

Side Note:
Vamdemon's talk was different in the japanese version, and was lightened for obvious reasons.
In the american version, Myotismon says he'll start by separating children from their parents. Gatomon says that, in the real world, he's not as powerful as he thought he was going to be. Myotismon says power is the last thing Gatomon should worry, since she doesn't have it.
In the japanese version, Vamdemon give orders to PicoDevimon: he orders to hold every children in front of Tailmon with a scythe on their necks. PicoDevimon asks if wouldn't be easier to just kill all children at once (good point). Vamdemon says it's not something from his principles, but if Tailmon starts pretending, he wouldn't think twice before killing each one of them.
In the original, Yamato's dad, someway, already knew about Gabumon. And Yamato knew his father knew about Gabumon. In the american version, it seems Matt just found out in this episode.

Stupid Dialogue:
Sora: "Besides, we've got truth and justice and all that stuff on our side!" Your line was so ok until this...

Side Note:
Man, confusing! They moved the beggining of the conversation between the - uh, people - to after the stupid dialogue below. That changed completely the conversation, and made my head spin @_@ Oh, I can't detail it. I just can't.

Stupid Dialogue:
Mimi's mother: "Please, don't let my husband make anything dangerous!"
Mimi's father: "Hey, honey..."
Mimi's mother: "STAY OUT OF THIS! There's a bunch of other men out there... can't you let him out of this?
Yamato's father's assistant: "But lady, I mean..."
Mimi's mother: "HE CAN EVEN DIE!! AND IF HE DIES, I'LL DIE TOO (...)"
Mimi's mother: "I just can't stand this place one second longer!"
Mimi's father: "If you want to get away, look this as it was vacation!" (something similar)
Mimi's mother: "WHO ASKED YOU TO TALK?! I'm sorry children, making -----. I'm just not used to be captured by creatures from another world!"
Matts father's assistant: "Don't worry lady, you'll get used to it."
Mimi's mother: "BUT I DON'T WANT TO GET USED TO, I WANNA GO HOME AND SLEEP ON MY OWN BED (...)
Man, Saban, you could have avoided this horrible rewrite if you HAVEN'T moved the last scene!

Side Note:
As in episode 11, the Buddhist chant became some Roman physicist guy's funky "Bakemon, lose you power" thing.

Stupid Dialogue:
Mimi: "Who are you?" I think Mimi SAW Togemon evolving. Gimme a break! Lillymon: "You're a very special girl, even know you're -----------"
Mimi: "What do you mean?"
I couldn't understand, but was something like "even know you are STUPID AND PATHETIC AND KLUTZ AND STUPID". Ok, it wasn't that.... but it would be so cool!

Side Note:
Once again, moved scene (please, stop! It's hard to work like this, you know?). After Lillymon defeated DarkTyranommon, the following scenes (Mimi saying "sugooooi" and Vamdemon scene) were moved to the end of the american episode.

Stupid Dialogue:
Once again, the conversation between Jou and Gomamon was changed. I'm too tired to detail, but, in the american version, they recycled the "it could be worse!" stupid conversation. In the japanese version, Jou and Gomamon was talking about what school teaches, or something like that. Phantomon: "A large bird. A large ANGRY bird! AAH!" Bah. Myotismon: "Back to the DigiWorld with you!" Yes, you guessed it. In the original, Vamdemon was KILLING DarkTyranommon, not sending him back to the DigiWorld. I mean, Digital World. Wow, Myotismon's Dungeon is pretty full, isn't it?

Side Note. Or cut?:
The american episode ends when Myotismon attacks Lillymon. In the japanese version, the scene continue: we see Lillymon shooting a Flower Canon on Vamdemon. I don't really know if this was cut or transferred to the next episode, though. If it was cut, I won't take screenshot. It's a scene you must have already seen a lot of times.

Total episode retained: 99%

Side Note (25.11.02 - Brought up by Michael):
A few words from our duckman:
In this episode, you probably noticed the people in the weird costumes where everyone was being held captive by the Bakemon.

They're from a Japanese television show called the Tôkyô Kids Club. It airs on FujiTV and if you remember, Yamato's dad works at FujiTV. ^_^ So, if you were curious about these guys: they aren't freaks, they're just doing their job.

Tôkyô Kids Club website (it's in Japanese).
