I love Jou. He's just my favorite first season character. So naturally, I hate the mockery Saban makes of him! Evil, evil Saban. Oh well. Pretty decent episode, really. Plenty of opportunities for compulsive speaking disorder weren't taken. Only one cut was made. Yep, not too bad. |

Mimi repeatedly refers to the Numemon as "Numemons" and talks like a complete and total ditz. That's why we need a narrator for this part! Alright, you know all of Gomamon's incessant dialogue while we get those scenes of the gears and the forest? You guessed it! It isn't supposed to be there! Aside from the title, it completely gives away that this episode is about Jou! Gomamon: "Who do you think Snowmon is?" (in response to Mimi's talk of a Snowman) Gabumon: "A digimon from their planet!" If the Digimon supposedly know who all other Digimon are, then why wouldn't they know who Snowmon was if he existed? |

| Also, when Tai, T.K., and Matt are talking about when it's going to snow and how it's gonna land on Joe's head and crap like that, in the original, they aren't even speaking. Well, they are, but Jou is talking at the same time, so their voices are silenced while Jou says a few things. When they're laughing, you don't even hear them laughing in the original. They aren't making fun of Jou. Also, Jou's tone in the original is a lot more calm (not as whiny) in the original. |

Sora is much less of a bitch to Jou in the original. Jou: "That's right, go ahead and laugh. But when your tootsies freeze, don't go cryin' to me, cuz I'll just say I told you so!" Tootsies? Okay... Mimi: "There's bound to be a ski resort!" Aren't ski resorts on mountains? Are you on a mountain? Matt: "If we walk across the field in our sneakers, our toes will go numb!" You're already standing in the middle of the snowy field. Tai: "What are we supposed to do, just stand here like a bunch of dorks?" 'Continue to just stand there like a bunch of dorks.' Mimi: "There go my big dreams of a nice warm bath!" Indeed. Joe: "What's a little dirt compared to starving?" I declare this line stupid simply because I don't at all understand it. No one brought up dirt, why is he talking about it? The springs aren't dirty, just hot. Matt: "Hey, where there's a fridge, there's grub!" You shouldn't put larvae in the fridge... Mimi: "I want hot cocoa!" You're not gonna find that in a fridge, sweetie. Tai: "Yeah, grub on!" Grub - v. - to dig up by or as if by the roots Grub - n. - a thick, wormlike larva of certain beetles and other insects Okay. Tai: "Then I'll be the guinea pig. If I turn purple, you know they're not edible." I would enjoy seeing that. Sora: "Sunny side-up eggs are my specialty." Broken, burnt, and otherwise ruined eggs are mine. Mimi: "Trés gourmet!" What? Tai: "My stomach's chimin'!" Your stomach's WHAT? |

While there's the shot focusing on all the eggs they made, instead of Mimi and Sora talking, all the characters say "Itada kimasu!" "Itada kimasu" is a part of Japanese culture that is said usually before a meal. Ok, here's what they like on their eggs in the original and in the dub. Jou - I don't think he's even in the conversation. Joe - salt and pepper. Taichi - soy sauce. Tai - soy sauce. Yamato - Mayonaise. Matt - salsa Sora - sauce. Sora - doesn't say Koushiro - Citrus juice [updated 17.05.2007, submitted by Zokolov]. Izzy - mustard and... ugh... jelly beans Mimi - Sugar and natto. Natto is a bean paste with a really strong smell and flavour [updated 17.05.2007, submitted by Zokolov]. Mimi - Maple syrup and a cherry on top. Matt: "Come on, join the party!" So much for Yamato's serious character. At this point, it sounds like he's on something. Gomamon: "I'm afraid Joe's just not the kinda guy that's meant to be adaptable." Joe: (whiny) "And why'd you squeeze my arm??" "Oh hell! He squeezed my arm and I'm gonna cry!" *sob* Matt: "You don't seem to be yourself today, Joe. You're a basketcase!" Thank you, Matt, for being the comforting and caring friend that can understand how Jou worries about other people. You're so kind. Tentomon: "Infinity Mountain's a doozy, that's for sure!" Right. |

| Yet another scene with one voice talking over others. The scene where Sora is telling Jou what's going on and you see Yamato and Taichi fighting, Sora and Jou are speaking over them, so Yamato and Taichi's voices are silenced. In the dub, Tai says "It's the perfect spot! We gotta climb up there! It's the best view of the island!" In the original, his voice is silenced and Sora does a voice-over explaining to Jou what Taichi's POV is. It's the same deal with Yamato. |

Joe: "You two are making me a nervous wreck!" Sure, blame it on everyone else. Joe: "Don't be difficult!" Matt: "What? You are the most difficult person I have ever met!" Tai: "You're such a big chicken, Matt!" Matt: "Tai, you better take that back!" Indeed. Sora: "Now grow up!" ... ggg... *shudder* Gomamon: "Everything doesn't revolve around you!" In this episode, it does. Gomamon: "Sometimes I just have to trick him..." Whom are you speaking to? |

Gomamon: "I could use a lift! Thanks!" [Jou: "o_o *kicks Gomamon down the mountain* That's for saying I'm unadaptable!"] Joe: "He must be coming down to have a drink!" You're not supposed to find out until after he goes near the water! You've ruined the surprise! Gomamon: "Hello, Unimon! It's me, Gomamon! It's been a long time since..." Since what? Gomamon's never met Unimon. Any dialogue where they're listening for the Black Gear wasn't there is the original. Unimon's dub voice sounds more like a pig than a horse... Unimon doesn't speak in the original until he uses his attack. Sora: "I wonder where sleepy Joe is." Sleeping? |

Jou's little message in the dirt was painted over and replaced by an English one because many American kids have problems reading Japanese. 「すぐもどろ この場を動かす (note: that could be 「ず」; it looks like the 「す」 has ten-ten on it, but that's unusual [to me, anyway] so it could just be the dirt) まっててくれ 丈」 "Will return soon I'm moving through this place Please wait for me Jou" |
