Ya know, I've noticed that in the dub opening, the part where Wormmon turns around is actually longer than it was in the original. o.o Evil Ring is changed to Dark Ring. Nimoy and Buccholz at large still. o.o |
What? The episode DOESN'T start with Stupid Dialogue?? O.O! Anyway, V-mon's attack, "V-mon Head," is changed to "V-Headbutt." |
Veemon: "Come on, let's rock!" Agumon: "You guys are officially fugitives!" |
Tai: "I can practically smell the cafeteria from here!" Davis: "That my peanut butter and jelly bean sandwich I've had in my pocket since last week!" O_o |
| The Dark Towers are called "Control Spires." |
D. Emporer: "... in the DigiWorld!" Digital World. Gabumon: (thinking... for once) "How do I get myself into these things?" Yolei: "Early rejects might be a better phrase." Speaking of rejects... D. Emporer: "Let's move out! I've got an early tea time this morning!" Kid sure likes his tea... Gabumon: "We're bustin' out tonight, boys! Aww... why wait?" It just doesn't work with his old man voice. It really doesn't. |
| In the original, the roomaji in Red Vagimon's screen was just that, Red Vagimon, while "Red Veggiemon" is intended. |
| Gabumon getting hit with Red Vagimon's arm is replaced by a white flash. |
Red Vegiemon: "I'm the world's biggest salad bar, Red Vegiemon!" Oh, yummy. *takes a bite* |
This change is a MAJOR scene alteration. I have no idea why it happened, but here's the scoop. This is the dub Digimon Analyser screen: ![]() This is the Japanese one: ![]() Look at the kana and kanji in the black portion of the screen. In the dub, it's replaced with DIGMON'S information! This is a VERY bizarre change of events and I don't know why this has happened. Oh, that reminds me, Red Vagimon's attack is changed from "Hazard Breath" to "Stink Jet." |
Gabumon: "Try to stop us, stinky!" Red Vegiemon: "For trying to escape you get to smell my roots! And I have ROOT ROT!!" Eww... |
(5 seconds) Red Vagimon isn't making them "smell his roots." He's beating Gabumon to a bloody pulp (well, he isn't bloody...). In the original, you actually see this. In the dub, they start by showing you the shot of the Gazimon, followed by his roots moving, followed by a shot of the dark tower, the Red Vegiemon standing and talking, then he pushes Gabumon off the cliff. In the original, when he's hitting Gabumon, he's counting from 66 to 73. o.o Giving Gabumon 73 lashes, maybe? |
Red Vegiemon: "Hey, if you can't stand the smell then get out of the kitchen!" I think I will. This script stinks. Gabumon: "My fur is dry-clean only!" Well, considering you're in a life-or-death situation, you won't have to worry about it for long. Gabumon: "Man, I stink!" |
Naturally, the song Yamato sings changes. He is originally singing "Walk On The Edge." In the dub, he's singing about turning around and being able to see what's behind him. Seriously. |
Matt: "Look, T.K., just because I have a rock band doesn't mean I can hide a band of rocks that happen to be Digimon!" T.K.: "Think about it! Maybe they can be your back-up singers!" Matt: "They sound too gravelly..." But the chicks dig 'em! Jun: "I get all the cute boys to sign it... you may not know it, but I haven't washed this shirt in two years!" T.K.: "There's not a lot of room!" Oh, yeah, right. And I suppose they just censored all the names on her shirt because they were written in Japanese. o.- Jun: "I know, I think all boys are cute!" Even your brother? Matt: "There's some kind of trouble in the Digital World!" Digi--- O.O! He said "Digital World!" *has a heart attack* |
| The kanji/kana is replaced by English on Takeru's D-Terminal. |
By the way, Jun does mention Daisuke. If I heard correctly, she called him uncute. o.o *vomits along with the vomiting music* |
Gabumon: "Let's just say I'll never look at steamed vegetables the same way!" Gabumon: "Good... we never talk anymore!" Poromon: "Have no fear while Yolei's gone! This place shall be guarded by Poromon!" ... ggg... *shudder* Gatomon: "Why do they call those things on top of the TV rabbit ears? Why don't they call them cat ears? After all, when was the last time you saw a rabbit sleeping on the TV?" Gabumon: "It's a small village called Santa Garia!" Davis: "Cool! Sounds like it's in California!" ... isn't "Santa Garia" a slang term for an illegal drug? Cody: "He forgot how to spell T.K.!" Patamon: "Where are you taking us??" Patamon's pretending to be a guard, not a captive. Gatomon: "Don't start feeling too frisky yet!" Don't start feeling frisky EVER. Gatomon: "We still haven't faced the pick of the litter!" |
| The Vagimon hitting the bars of the cell is covered with a white flash. |
The punch thing was stupid. Davis: "Why won't anyone listen to me??" Veemon: "Whatdja say?" Davis: "I know! She said that I bite my toenails and spit them on the floor, that I used to suck my thumb until about a month ago, that I wet the bed every other Thursday; it was laundry day so it was okay. Well, she talks too much and the next time I see her, I'm gonna teach her a lesson!" Thank you, Davis. Daisuke, being in a rotten mood, just says that he hates Jun and has a mini-rant. Matt: "Your sister didn't say anything bad about you! In fact, she didn't even mention you!" Now, Matt, why would you lie to him? You heard her yourself, she called Daisuke uncute. (Originally, Yamato said that he hated anyone who didn't love their older siblings.) |
| In the original, when Hikari's hand pulled the petals off the rose, you could hear her voice saying "Kirai, kirai, kirai..." "Kirai" means "hate." |
Veemon: "Knock knock!" Veemon: "I'm gonna make vegetarians around the world proud!" |
Dang, those white flashes are everywhere today. o.o Just a shot of V-mon getting hit by Red Vagimon. And again! |
(5 seconds) During the scenes where V-mon is getting hit by Red Vagimon over the still of the Dark Tower, the original scenes were moving and you did see V-mon get beaten up. In the dub, you just see stills of the violence. By the way, these scenes indiciate time passing by, because Red Vagimon starts counting at one, and it changes shortly to counting from 60-something. o.o If Red Vagimon can count and I'm right about the passing-time thing, then Red Vagimon hit V-mon nearly 90 times. |
| Red Vegiemon's "cooking" phrases are stupid. |
Yet another white flash when Red Vagimon hits V-mon! And another! |
| Break Up! is again replaced by some crap song. |
Red Vegiemon: "I've heard of grilled vegetables before, but this is ridiculous!" Yeah, it truely is. Hawkmon: "They're going to need a lot of glue!" Digmon: "Sorry, I forgot to yell 'timber!'" Red Vegiemon: "Whoa, did I get married while I was asleep?" |
Not important AT ALL, but I find it odd that in the background while Taichi is talking, Miyako and Koushiro are just staring at each other. o.o Not only that, but Koushiro is older than Miyako (I think) but Miyako is as tall as he is. Now, that's not too unrealistic, but still, if he calls her "Miyako-kun," which he does, he should at least be taller than she is. o.- |
Yolei: "I'm glad the Gotsumon aren't staying with us anymore. Every time they touched my CD's, they scratched them!" Cody: "And they clogged the sink when they brushed their teeth!" Greymon: "They don't make control spires like they used to!" Tai: "You're a one-m(or)on wrecking crew!" |
| Ken's laughing in the dub really sucks. It's always forced and weird-sounding. |
When Yamato and Gabumon see each other for the first time in this episode, they're talking and Yamato is knelt down. Have a screen shot. Smoochie~. |
