Wee hoo! Back in action at last. Here's hoping I haven't forgotten everything! By the way, because I see this mistake a lot: the first season is NOT "01." The 02 isn't the season number, it's the year. The story takes place in 2002, three years after the first season, which took place in 1999. Nimoy and Bucchotz are still writing the season. o.o Actually, judging by just this episode, they're a LOT better than last season. Many scenes where silence was required were kept true to that nature, although the bad jokes continue. Evil Ring is changed to Dark Ring. Here are some cuts of the opening sequence: Flying through the Evil Towers. The Real and Digital Worlds. A neat part that dub-watchers miss out on. Run, dudes, run! Traditional group photo. |
| Though Takeru does narrate a little in the original, he doesn't tell you what the others are off doing now. |
T.K.: "Tai's in high school..." They all are. T.K.: "My brother Matt's trying to be a rock star..." He is a rock star. Haven't you seen his groupies? Gazimon: "Run for your lives, it's the evil Digimon Emporer!" He said the same thing in the original, but in the dub he doesn't sound scared AT ALL. |
Name change time!! Digimon Kaiser = Digimon Emporer Motomiya Daisuke = Davis Motomiya Hida Iori = Cody Hida Inoue Miyako = Yolei Inoue ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Gatomon: (looking at Holy Ring on her tail) "That was close!" T.K.: "New school, new apartment, but the same old lumpy oatmeal..." You're supposed to take the millipedes out of it before you cook it. DUH. Nancy (Takeru's mother): "It's all about the historical significance of toilet paper." (her article) |
| The Kanji and Kana in their names are all painted over and replaced with their dub names. |
Yolei: "It takes exactly 12.3 minutes and that's if there's no wind!" Yolei: "Only if your mom makes those brownies I love!" (in response to fixing Cody's computer) Cody: "I'll send her an e-mail and ask if she'll make a batch right away!" Yolei: "Perfecto!" Not all that stupid, but in the original, her catchphrase is "Bingo"... why they didn't just keep "Bingo", I don't know. T.K.: "You look familiar, must be the goggles!" Originally, he said the goggles are "kakkoii." The reason Daisuke look all boggled is because although "kakkoii" means "cool," it can also mean attractive or stylish. If you wanted to describe someone you had a crush on, you might call that person "kakkoii." Takeru probably just meant that they were cool. T.K.: "That CAN'T be Tai, he's a much better soccer player than that kid!" Kari: "I wouldn't call that luck!" (replying to Davis being in the same class as she) The Japanese school system is structured so that the kids can be in the same classes throughout all of their levels if possible. Davis: "Probably thinks I'm a movie STAR!" Well, you do have attractive and stylish goggles. Teacher: "Please take a seat by the girl with the... camera around her neck." Yes, the nameless girl. You see her, she's RIGHT THERE! No no, not that one! Davis: "That kid's trying to make a move on my girl!" Well, none of the girls have names, apparently. You have to be more specific. T.K.: "Our teacher looks like Ogremon!" He doesn't... Tentomon: "Hurry! Don't let SNEEmon catch us!" Sneemon? Tai: "Did you forget how? It's just like riding a bicycle, now start pedalling and digivolve!" Except this bicycle has no handlebars, no seat, the tires are deflated, and the frame is broken in four different places. That Kaiser kid is mean. Gatomon: "Move your tails!" Yolei: "Must be a link to an online game!" (her e-mail) T.K.: "She hasn't seen it yet, she's been on the computer the whole time!" Woah! There's a house around me?? Kari: "His name is not buddy! It's T.K.!" Davis: "Alright T.J. or J.B. or whatever it is!" |

In the original version went Daisuke came running in, he referred to Takeru as "omae." Hikari told him not to call Takerukun that, and Daisuke called him both "omae" and used the -kun suffix! "Omae" is a very gruff and kind of rude way of saying "you." It should only be used among close friends (male) OR when talking down to inferiors. That's why Hikari told him not to. The thing with Daisuke mixing up Takeru's name is not only dumb, but it gives Daisuke the nastiest reputation there is. Yet, as we see later in 02, he's very nice to Ken! |

Yolei: "You mean the legendary former computer club president is looking for me? I'm honored!" Izzy: "I knew I should have recharged it after I played Trigonometry Trivia on the Internet last night!" And he's still trying to sound smart! Well, at least he isn't saying "Prodigious" anymore. Kari: "They play on the same soccer team." That's a little unfair, isn't it? Having a high school kid in an elementary school soccer team... Tai: "Is it an egg?" Agumon: "I never saw an egg with a spike in it!" Could that be because it's not an egg? Gatomon: "It must have been rough on the chicken that laid that thing!" Not being an egg, it didn't come from a chicken. ... I hope... Tai: "They look like fireflies... really fast ones!" |
| When Taichi touches the Digimental in the original version, a version of Break Up! (one of this season's evolution themes) without the vocals starts up in the background. |
Izzy: "We're going back to the Digital World! Prodigious!" Dammit! Davis: "Hey, can I get Donkey Madness on this thing?" Izzy: "It's not a game!" |
The music as they go into the Digital World: Original: *a nice little tune plays in the background as they go to the Digital World* Dub: SWEET SON OF JINNAI WHAT IS THAT AWFUL NOISE MAKE IT STOP MAKE IT STOP |

Davis: "Whoa, my first time being downloaded. Pretty cool!" Davis: "Whoa, this place comes with a new wardrobe!" D. Emporer: "Well, looks like we have some visitors in my garden! And they weren't even on the guest list!" ... garden? Davis: "Do they all come out of vending machines?" Gatomon: "I heard we're all gonna have to punch a time clock, too." ... okay... T.K.: "There goes the neighborhood." Gatomon: "You work for the Digimon Emporer!" Gatomon: "Weak as new-born kittens!" Gatomon: "These collars do everything but get rid of fleas!" Well, they aren't exactly collars in the first place. For a lot of Digimon, they go around the waist or arm. Kari: "Digimon Emporer! I'm gonna slap a dark ring on him!" Oh, feisty! RRRrrrRRRrrr!! D. Emporer: "Eeny, menie, miney, m(or)on!" |
| Ya know, the Digimon Emporer talks in a really seductive tone. Like Piedmon and Myotismon. o.o Weird. |
Tai: "Plus it's heavier than my mother's meatloaf!" Damn, what a jerk. Kari: "Move aside, this is a woman's job! *can't lift it*" T.K.: "Too bad we don't have a woman here to help!" DAMN, what a jerk! Davis: "Guys, I pump iron all the time! Let me do it!" Whatever you say, Davis. Davis: "Light as a feather! You guys need to work out a little more!" According to T.K., they need a sex change. Veemon: "My name is Veemon, but you can just call me Veemon!" |
| Veemon's voice is annoying. V-mon had a cute voice, but Veemon has a lisp and talks like an idiot. |
Veemon: "Davis, tell me! What hurts?" Davis: "Everything but my earlobes..." |
| "Digimental UP!" is changed to "Digiarmor Energise!" Of course, if they had kept the word "Digimental," they wouldn't have to say "Digiarmor." |
Fladramon is renamed Flamedramon. What he shouts at the end of his evolution is moved to after he says his name, and it's changed. Fladramon: "Burning Courage! Fladramon!" Flamedramon: "Flamedramon! The Fire Of Courage!" A desperate attempt to replace "Break Up!" is made when the song "Run Around" is inserted. Luckily, although nothing compared to "Break Up!", the song isn't half bad. At least it isn't the same old recycled theme song crap. |
Gatomon: "Barbeque that dark ring, Flamedramon!" Wormmon: "Great, just one question... what's a foe?" He originally just said "Ken-chan..." Agumon: "You don't see that everyday!" Well, fans who watch the show often do... Izzy: "Get off! You're crushing my brownies!" The horror! |
| Wormmon's voice is HORRIBLE. Easily one of the worst in the entire series. His original voice was high-pitched and cute like a child's. |
